Art of Pastel Workshops with Gregory Maichack
Gregory Maichack has won nat'l awards, been on the faculty of the Museum of Fine Arts, Springfield, MA (teaching pastel portraiture), taught pastel art at Norman Rockwell Museum (portraits), twice at MFA Boston, at local colleges, libraries & senior centers. He is beloved and most libraries and venues book him every year, to returning and new participants. He brings all materials--professional-grade paper, pastels by the hundreds. He lectures at easel and demonstrates pastel handling techniques as participants follow along and create their own art at tables. He arrives an hour before the 2-hour workshops to set up at tables, (please allow 45-60 minutes to put all away) usually has 20 participants (sometimes more). He infuses his talk with interesting anecdotes and information about artists, art history and pastel—deeply knowledgeable! With humor and information, he makes art-making lively, empowering all—beginners to advanced painters—to leave with a successful work of art and the ability to grow as artists and do more on their own.
