Juliana Ortiz, a Puerto Rican dancer and choreographer for over 19 years has worked with commercial and urban artists such as Luis Fonsi, Ednita Nazario, Juan Luis Guerra, Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, Thalia, Victor Manuel, Natalia Jimenez, David Bisbal, Juan Gabriel among others. The dancer who from the age of 5, her training as a dancer has been in Classical Ballet being a student of the Specialized School in Classic Ballet Julian E. Blanco and member of the Municipal Ballet of San Juan, are part of his repertoire the Ballet Lagos de The Swans, Romeo and Juliet, Nutcracker, Love Brujo, Don Quixote, Beauty and the Beast, Carmen and Copellia. Juliana currently teaches creative movement classes in penal institutions of women in Puerto Rico and was certified at all levels of psychoballet on her trip to Cuba being invited to the IV Psychoballet Encounter Festival to depose her work with the inmates in Puerto Rico, recognized by Giorgina Farinas, who proposed the method as the only person offering the method of psychoballet to female inmates in Latin America. At the same time, the Director of Apro Dance of Puerto Rico, Sr. Mayra Collazo has just appointed her ambassador for the week of Dance in Puerto Rico and will be honored for her work, dedication and career in Dance. scheduled for April 29, 2017 International Day of Dance worldwide. Juliana says that everyone was surprised by her anecdotes with the inmates, she told them the change in attitudes, discipline and group work she has achieved through the classes of creative movement through the Cuban method of psychoballet.
