Linda Siciliano is an educator who has served as a special educator, speech language pathologist for over 40 years!

“Bear-y Tale Theater” is a 45-minute program for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Using puppets and storytelling techniques, this interactive session builds emergent literacy as the children help two puppets solve an important problem. Emphasis will be on developing an understanding of basic story elements and retelling skills.

Linda’s professional career has provided the exciting opportunity to present numerous workshops for professional staff and families with a focus on speech, language and literacy. As an elementary principal, Linda met with children monthly to use storytelling and puppetry activities to support academic and social skills. As a teacher and SLP, puppets were her amazing assistants!

She has also been a speaker on the topic of multisensory interventions for speech and language through puppetry, print and play. She is founder of Creative Speech Products and author of Teddy Talker® speech-language materials.

Linda Siciliano is a lifelong educator who has served children as a speech-language pathologist, special education, early intervention teacher, teacher of the deaf, assistant principal and principal. Her career spans over 40 years!

“Bear-y Tale Theater” is a 45-minute program for Pre-K and Kindergarten students.   Using puppets and storytelling techniques, this interactive session builds emergent literacy as the children help two puppets solve an important problem. Emphasis will be on developing an understanding of basic story elements (character, setting, problem, actions and resolution) along with retelling skills. Follow-up activities will be given to staff, including printable puppets for the lead characters in Linda’s original classroom tale, “Beak and Squeak and the Kindergarten Surprise.”  This program can be delivered to groups of 20 students up to 3 times in succession within a morning or afternoon session.

Linda earned a B.A. from Brooklyn College, M.A. from NYU and Sixth Year Professional Diploma in Educational Administration from SCSU. In addition, Linda holds teaching and administrator certification along with her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP.) Linda’s professional training includes Story Grammar Marker and The Columbia Reading and Writing Project.

Linda was one of sixteen principals across the United States selected for Scholastic Book Fair’s inaugural National Principal’s Advisory Board. Her professional career has provided the exciting opportunity to present numerous workshops for professional staff and families with a focus on speech, language and literacy. As an elementary principal, for 15 years she met with children in every grade level monthly.  During her "Town Meetings, she and storytelling and puppetry activities to both excite and delight children while learning important academic and social skills. As a teacher and SLP, puppets were her amazing assistants! To this day, in meeting some of her former students who have since graduated high school, they often inquire about her purple mosquito puppet!

She has also been a speaker on the topic of multisensory interventions for speech and language through puppetry, print and play. PESI has published her DVD for educators. Linda founded Creative Speech Products while working as a Speech-Language Pathologist and is the author of Teddy Talker® speech-language materials, currently distributed across the United States and nine countries.
