Born and raised in a very diverse Stamford, Connecticut, Alicia C. Cobb is a professional visual artist and body painter currently residing and working in Bridgeport, CT. Exposed to different cultures at a very young age, she always knew she wanted to be an Artist. Her biggest inspirations are transformation, the human body, emotion, nature and her children. Her works can be found on many surfaces such as canvas, walls, clothing and people.
Specializing in face & body art, she can turn a human body into a painted work of art in just a few hours. Her body art has been featured in several published magazines (S.L.A.M.M, 2013; & Skin Markz, 2015). She was also among the highlighted artists in New York City Body Painting Day (2014, 2015), The Flesh Art Show (New Orleans, 2015). Alicia placed top ten in the 2016, North American Body Paint Championships in Greensboro, NC. which is the only sanctioned body art competition in the U.S. Alicia says, “Painting the human body is particularly one of my favorite mediums because it's like being part of a metamorphosis and seeing people transform is always a special experience”. She was a 2017 "Bridgeport Girls Rock" honoree and won the Artistic Concept grand prize in the BNT "Do West Shark Tank Competition in 2017.
Alicia is a member of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County. She currently has a studio space at 305 Knowlton Street in Bridgeport where she hosts monthly paint events as well as private classes. She enjoys giving back and participates in community events and organizations frequently. She acts as a mentor to many young aspiring artists and currently teaches art in after school enrichment in Bridgeport, New Haven and Stamford. As an artist, she hopes to encourage people to explore all kinds of art and to be inspired. She hopes to create a sense of calm and beauty in a world that can be otherwise chaotic.
