I was born November 26, 1952. I have been blind since birth and started playing piano by ear around age 3. I learned to read Braille music in third grade. I took music lessons at the Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia, and attended the Oak Hill School for the Blind in Hartford.
I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Hartt School, University of Hartford. My bachelors degree in 1976 was in Music with an Emphasis in Piano. I also received an Artist Diploma in 1978.
I played in the Al Jarvis Orchestra and was a member of Pulse from 1979 to 1992; the Sam Passco Orchestra from 1989 to 2016; the Jerry Carrillo Orchestra from 1978 to 2014. I am an active member of the Hartford Men of Harmony Barbershop Chorus (formerly Insurance City Chorus), 1985 to 2018. I played a concert at the Hartford Jazz Society, performed jazz and classical music on WWUH, and have been a guest DJ on Jazz Programs.
I would like to play jazz, classical and pop piano in the Greater Hartford Area, including at Assisted Living Centers, Corporate Events, Sing Alongs, School Performances, and as an Accompanist for Ballet Classes.
